About Dagmar Popp
Biography
Dagmar Popp was born in Eldingen, a small village situated in the northern part of Germany in the Lower Sachsony district in 1956. She started her career in the hospitality industry as receptionist, which would eventually take her through various hotel institutions in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Mauritius. Having met her husband (of Mauritian descent) in Paris in the early 1980s, they moved to Mauritius in 1987 where they built a small hotel by the name of Villas Le Guerlande, which was sold in 2011. Dagmar Popp started painting in 2008, which at the time was just a hobby. She decided to follow her heart in doing things differently from an art perspective. She never undertook any formal or traditional artistic training, guidance or courses; it all just came from inner intuition, emotions, her deep understanding of spirituality and various energies surrounding humans on planet earth. These concepts and modalities are reflected not only in her art work, but also in her daily life. In 2014, she single handedly opened Dagmar's Paradieso Café, a German style café/"salon de thé" in St. Jean, Mauritius. Dagmar Popp's artistic style reflects her passion and deep understanding of various energy and spiritual concepts influencing the lives of various life forms and the world at large. Dagmar Popp is a certified and recognised Reiki Master Practitioner, Certified Signature Cell Healer and Feng-Shui enthusiast, all of which have vastly influenced her in producing energising and enriching works of art.
